![]() Name: Robert Gibney Gender: Male Birthday: December 5, 1977 Height: 6’ 2” Weight: 180 lbs. Hair: Black Eyes: Brown (vividly bright blue when iced) Mutant Abilities: Robert is not a mutant, he has discovered that he is an Elemental, specifically, he is the Water Elemental. Who the other three Elementals (Earth, Fire, Air) are is unknown. Bobby’s abilities allow him to completely turn his human body into any form of ice or water. He can generate temperatures as low as absolute zero, depending on what is nearby to feed his powers. He can also create any object he wants from ice, fly by mentally manipulating his ice body, and even cause snow, hail, ice storms, blizzards, and so on. His body can create a large amount of ammunition for him internally, but he is at his peak when atmospheric conditions give him lots of water vapor or actual bodies of water to draw upon. His body can be destroyed and he can regenerate a new body, he is not confined to one body. On a number of occasions he has operated multiple bodies at one time. He is limited only by his determination and his will power, and has survived many bodily breakages during fights before. His most powerful, yet rarely used, attack is called his ‘Freezer Burn.’ He can completely freeze every molecule of water in another person’s body, and then defrost it, within a second, leaving the other’s nerve endings on fire, and inducing seizures, bleeding, vomiting and perhaps even death. Due to his distaste for killing, this is a power he rarely uses. Physical Description: Bobby is tall, with unkempt hair and amazingly rich brown eyes. When he uses his powers, his eyes turn the brightest blue ever seen, they even shine in the dark, which can prove to be a hindrance in the dark world left in the wake of Apocalypse's fall. This weird effect allows him to ‘see' temperature when iced up. So while others can see him in the dark, he can see them too. He is virtually unkillable when iced up, but is an ordinary human when not. He has an incredible connection to nature, and leaving Earth on a trip into space caused great pain and loss of his abilities. A gift from a dying planet granted Bobby the same immunity to space that a planet enjoys, allowing him use of his abilities and offsets any ill effects of being separated with a planet. Place of Birth: Somewhere in America Family: Unknown. Revelation that he is actually an Elemental being has spurred questions as to who or what his parents may have been, and where they may be now. History: Bobby has no idea who his parents were, or how old he was when he was abandoned. He vaguely remembers people caring for him, but since he was 10 years old, he's been moving, sometimes with people, mostly without. He learned to fight as a child, as most people do, and is capable with many weapons and hand to hand. His powers developed when he was 13, and he spent some of the happiest years of his life learning about them, and using them to help his two friends from then, Rebecca Warren and Michael Marlin. He and Rebecca developed a relationship of sorts, and found comfort together. Never truly expressing their feelings for each other, they traveled together for nearly three years. When he was 16, Michael's mutant powers suddenly burst into the open one-day, as Bobby was practicing by a lake. Michael was a pyrotechnic apparently, and his flames caught Bobby directly in the chest at point blank range, hurling him into the water, in pieces. His body had been shattered by the blast, all the little icy pieces landing and melting in the water. Believing him dead and blaming Michael, Rebecca ran off on her own, and was not seen again for five years. Michael was distraught over what he had done and had allowed a gang to attack him. During the scuffle, he let his mutant powers loose, vaporizing the gang, and the foundation of a nearby building. It fell on him, crushing him. But Bobby was not dead. He had always known that he controlled ice and drew water from the atmosphere to do so, but he never connected his abilities and large sources of water, or the fact that he could become water. Slowly, painfully, he drew himself back together on the shore, watching as his body was water then ice then flesh again He started practicing with these new applications, icing up and breaking off parts of himself, and then reforming them from water. It became apparent than he is capable of surviving any damage done to him in his ice form, as long as there was enough water nearby or in the air. It was over two years later, after the final showdown between the X-Men and the Human High Council and Apocalypse, that Bobby got a summons from a woman named Klaw. She offered him a position on the fledgling mutant team called X-Calibre. Accepting the offer, Bobby traveled to Muir Island and joined. Today, Bobby lives a life that is much richer, and yet more dangerous, than ever. He has fallen in love with a teammate named Danielle Smith (Flame) and they are engaged to be wed. His powers and confidence have both grown, and he has gained the respect and love of his teammates. He has reconnected with his old love Rebecca, and a reality-altering adventure called the Age of Vein, had the two of them married. Upon returning to their true time, the two found themselves overwhelmed by intense feelings of love for each other, which Bobby’s rejected because they were the feelings of another him, and he loved Danielle. Rebecca, however, found herself pregnant with the AOV Rebecca’s child, and madly in love with Bobby, and upon Bobby’s rejection of her but not the baby, she fled to Wundagore Mountain to protect her child. On a mission into space, Bobby was told by an Earth Mother that his child was the Horus Child, and his life would be filled with pain and tragedy, happiness and contentment. An ominous prediction of the future of Rebecca has him worried. First Appearance: “The Omega” ![]() | ||
